However, we have people contact us on a regular basis requesting a support group for a specific situation. We would like to offer a few solutions: 1) If you know of a support group and would to like to spread the word, please post it here. If you are an agency, please contact us and we will write about your program on our resources page. 2) If you are interested in starting a support group, please let us know. We can help you coordinate it. 3) Many support groups that we have found are condition/disease/situation specific. We don't always fit neatly in boxes. For example, you may have a loved on who is aging. who has an intellectual disability and who has cancer. Where do you find support? PCSN has tried to overcome this by offering general support services and networking on our website. Each situation is unique, try and find a solution that works for you. If you have a solution to share, we would welcome it. Meanwhile we are working on bringing support groups to community locations beyond the internet. 4) We have also found that while groups exist for specific condition/disease/situations they often focus on that and not the caregiver. There is a distinction. If you find this happening to you, please communicate with us. We are trying to contact agencies to let them know how this is a burden to caregivers. If we all pool our resources together, hopefully we can provide better resources for each person in the community. Please take care of yourself!
